Flower Care Tips

Here are some useful tips to make sure you provide the best possible care for your flowers.

Caring for Bouquets

  • Prepare a clean vase.
  • Fill the container with lukewarm water and mix well with flower food provided.
  • Trim each stem with a sharp knife or scissors and remove any excess leaves that fall below the waterline. This will prevent the growth of bacteria in the water caused by decaying foliage.
  • Place the stems in the vase.
  • Top up the vase with fresh water daily when necessary.
  • For maximum life, place your flowers in a cool location, not in direct sunlight.
  • Change the water and re-cut the stem ends every 2-3 days.
  • Most flowers will last a minimum of 3 - 7 days. Remove any dead flowers from your bouquet to extend the life of those remaining.

Caring for Arrangements

  • Add water and your flower food sachet to the container immediately.
  • Top up the container with fresh water daily when necessary.
  • If oasis (floral foam) has been used, wait for the water to be absorbed, then continue adding until it’s full.
  • For maximum life, place your flowers in a cool location, not in direct sunlight. To prolong the life of the arrangement, remove any dying flowers as they occur.
